How pricing works
Local moves, 2 movers and a truck: $385 for the first 2 hours, then $85 for each extra half hour. No travel charge. You get a free written estimate before moving day, and the total follows the actual hours. If you add items or services, we confirm the change in writing first.
Why a move across the Hudson is different
Manhattan to Hoboken crosses a state line and a river; Fort Lee to Jersey City stays in New Jersey and needs a New Jersey public mover license. A long-distance move needs federal authority. Our operator, A & A Alliance Moving Inc, holds both, plus New York State authority.
Why this protects you: a licensed mover follows rules on estimates, paperwork, valuation and claims. A mover without the right license is outside those rules. Before you book, ask for the U.S. DOT number and the New Jersey license number, and check them.
Depending on the truck, the traffic and the two addresses, the crossing is the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln Tunnel or the Holland Tunnel. The tunnels have height limits, so the truck route is often not the one your phone suggests. We plan the start time around tunnel traffic and around the move hours of both buildings.

High-rise buildings and building paperwork
Many waterfront towers and Manhattan doorman buildings have rules: a Certificate of Insurance naming the building, a reserved elevator, and a fixed window. We issue the COI your building asks for and send it with your contract, or to the building on request. You reserve the elevator and tell us the window, and we plan the crew around it. How it works
- Request. Send the form or call with where from, where to, the date and the home size.
- Call. We go over floors, stairs, elevators, big or fragile items and building rules, by video or in person when it helps.
- Written estimate. You get a written estimate before moving day, showing what it covers.
- Move day. The crew wraps, takes apart, loads, drives and places everything in the rooms you choose.
- Done. We reassemble what we took apart. You pay by cash or Zelle.

Is a move from Manhattan to Hoboken or Jersey City a local move?
It is short but crosses a state line. Federal rules treat NYC and nearby New Jersey towns as one commercial zone, so long-distance rules do not apply.
