How pricing works
You receive a free written estimate, and your hourly rate and terms are in writing before moving day. The total follows the actual hours, and we confirm any change in writing first.
Estimates are free, in person or by video, seven days a week, day or evening. Weekend and holiday moves cost no extra. The phone, 1-800-598-4356, is answered in English and Russian.
Why a move across the Hudson is different
A move from Manhattan to Hoboken can be three miles long, but it crosses a state line and a river. A move from Fort Lee to Jersey City stays inside New Jersey, and the mover needs a New Jersey public mover license. A long-distance move to another state needs federal operating authority. Our operator, A & A Alliance Moving Inc, holds both, plus New York State authority for moves inside New York.
Why this protects you: a licensed mover has to follow written rules on estimates, paperwork, valuation and claims, and a regulator stands behind those rules. On a long-distance move you receive the federal booklet on your rights, and the mover’s federal record is public. A mover without the right license is outside those rules, and if something goes wrong you have far fewer ways to get help. So before you book anyone, ask for the U.S. DOT number and the New Jersey license number, and check them.
Move day across the river takes planning too. Depending on the truck, the traffic and the two addresses, the crossing is the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln Tunnel or the Holland Tunnel. The tunnels have height limits and moving trucks stay off most parkways, so the truck route is often not the one your phone suggests. We plan the start time around tunnel traffic and around the move hours of both buildings.

High-rise buildings and building paperwork
Many waterfront towers and Manhattan doorman buildings have rules for moves: a Certificate of Insurance (COI) that names the building, a reserved service elevator, a fixed move window, and sometimes a loading dock booking. Miss one and the move can stop at the front desk.
We issue the COI your building asks for and send it with your contract. Most customers pass it to management themselves; if you prefer, we send it to the building directly. You reserve the elevator and tell us the window, and we plan the crew and start time around it. Read more about high-rise moving.
How it works
- Request. Send the form or call. Tell us where from, where to, the date and the size of the home.
- Call. We call you back to go over floors, elevators, stairs, large or fragile items and building rules. When it helps, we do a walk-through by video or in person.
- Written price. You get the price in writing before moving day, with what it covers.
- Move day. The crew wraps furniture, takes apart what needs it, loads, drives and places everything in the rooms you choose.
- Done. We put back together what we took apart. You pay by cash or Zelle.

Is a move from Manhattan to Hoboken or Jersey City a local move?
It is short, but it crosses a state line. Federal rules treat New York City and the nearby New Jersey towns as one commercial zone, so the federal household goods rules for long-distance moves do not apply to a move like this. For you, the written price works the same way as on any move.
