Moves from New York City to the New Jersey side of the Hudson are the center of our work. Our trucks start in Brooklyn, and we focus on the Hudson and Bergen County towns. We hold federal authority for interstate moves, U.S. DOT No. 967970 and MC-432549, plus a New Jersey public mover license (NJPM 000930) and a New York license (NYSDOT 34875). Our federal record shows active authority, a Satisfactory safety rating and registration since 2001.

Which crossing, from which borough

Three road crossings span the Hudson into Hudson and Bergen County, and Staten Island has three bridges of its own to New Jersey. The right one depends on where you start, where you end and the hour. These are the usual choices:

The New York end: building rules

Many city moves start in a building with rules. Co-ops, condos and many rental buildings want a COI, a booked service elevator and a move inside set hours, often on weekdays only. We issue the COI and send it with your contract, and we can send it to the building directly. Our high-rise moving page lists what to ask your building.

Brownstones and walk-ups have no elevator rules but plenty of stairs. Tell us the floor and the number of flights at both ends.

The New Jersey end: towers or houses

On the waterfront, the building rules look a lot like Manhattan’s. Up on the Palisades and further into Bergen County, you are more likely to end at a house or a two-family home with stairs, a driveway and street parking. Each town page covers its own details; start with Jersey City or Fort Lee, or pick your town from the list.

How your move runs

Free estimate in person or by video, seven days a week, day or evening.
A written price for the whole job, including packing, crating or storage if you want them.
We send the COI with the contract. You book elevators at both ends.
Moving day: load in the city, cross on the planned route, unload in New Jersey.
Furniture goes back together, and boxes go to the rooms you name.

How pricing works: your hourly rate and terms are in writing before moving day, and the total follows the actual hours. If you add items or services, we confirm the change in writing first.

NYC to New Jersey questions

Is a move from New York to New Jersey an interstate move?

It crosses a state line, even if it is only a few miles. But federal rules treat New York City and the nearby New Jersey towns as one commercial zone, so the federal household goods rules for long-distance moves do not apply to it. We hold federal authority for moves beyond that zone, plus New York and New Jersey licenses.

Can you move me on a weekend?

Yes, if both buildings allow it. Weekends and holidays cost nothing extra.

My new place is not ready. Can you store my things?

Yes. We offer short- and long-term storage through affiliated, clean, secure self-storage facilities, and we deliver on a scheduled date.
