Fairview covers less than one square mile between Cliffside Park, Ridgefield and North Bergen. It takes its name from its view west, over the Hackensack River valley.

Slopes, streets and routes
Part of Fairview lies on the western slope of the Palisades, so some blocks run uphill. On those blocks the crew picks where the truck stands to keep the carry short and safe. Broad Avenue (US 1/9) and Bergen Boulevard (Route 63) cross the borough from south to north and lead on to Fort Lee and the George Washington Bridge.
