Move the office, not the workweek
An office move can cost more in lost work than the move itself. So we plan it to keep your team working: weekend dates at no extra cost, a labeling plan that matches the new floor plan, and a schedule that follows both buildings’ rules.
What we move
- Desks, chairs, tables, shelving and file cabinets, taken apart and put back together where needed.
- Computers, monitors and printers, packed and padded.
- Files and records, boxed and labeled by department or room.
- Reception, conference room and kitchen furniture.
- Art, glass and other fragile pieces, crated when needed.
- Furniture or records that need a place between two spaces, through our storage service.
How an office move runs
- A walk-through, in person or by video, with the person in charge of the move.
- A written price and plan: the date, the start time, what moves, what stays and what needs packing.
- Building paperwork: we issue the COI your building asks for and send it with the contract, or to the building directly on request. You book the freight elevator and the loading dock.
- Labels: every desk, box and piece of furniture gets a label that matches a spot on the new floor plan.
- Move day: pack, load, drive, place everything by the plan, and put the furniture back together.
Get your team ready
- Pick one person to make decisions on move day.
- Ask each employee to pack the contents of their own desk in a labeled box.
- Draw the new floor plan with numbered spots, and mark the numbers on the new floor before the crew arrives.
- Clear out what will not come along: old files, broken chairs, dead equipment. Moving it costs time.
Your IT team and your building
We move the equipment. Your IT person or provider should disconnect computers, servers and phones before the move and reconnect them after, and back up your data before move day.
Ask the old and the new building about move hours, the freight elevator and the loading dock as early as you can. Many commercial buildings allow moves only at set times, and a tower may need a reserved elevator and an approved COI first. Our high-rise moving page covers the details. If you want the packing done for you, our packing services cover files, equipment and fragile items.
Across the river or across the street
An office move from Manhattan to Jersey City or Hoboken crosses the river, so we plan the crossing and the rules of both buildings. A move across the street gets the same planning. Either way, you get a free written estimate with your hourly rate and terms before moving day, and the total follows the actual hours. See how our prices work.
Questions about office moves
Can you move us on a weekend?
Yes, and weekends cost no extra. A weekend move keeps the workweek clear.
Do you provide the COI for our building?
Yes. We issue it and send it with the contract, or to the building directly on request.
Do you disconnect and set up computers?
No. We pack and move the equipment safely; your IT person or provider should disconnect it before the move and set it up after.
Do you move small offices?
Yes. A two-desk suite and a full floor both get a walk-through and a written price.
How early should we start planning?
For a larger office, a month or more ahead. Building approvals, the new floor plan and the IT work take the longest. A small suite can move on much shorter notice.
