Houses with a lot inside
Englewood Cliffs is mostly single-family homes on quiet, leafy streets at the top of the Palisades. Many are large. A large house means more rooms, more furniture and more things that need care: art, mirrors, stone and glass tabletops, a piano in the living room, a garage full of tools and bikes.
For a house like this, the estimate matters more than anything else. We walk through with you in person or by video, room by room, including the garage, the basement and the attic. Then you get a written price. On request we also prepare an inventory, a written list of what leaves the house.
What needs extra care
- Pianos. We move uprights and grands, including makers like Steinway, Baldwin and Bosendorfer.
- Art, glass and stone. When a box is not enough, we build a crate for the piece.
- Fine furniture. Large beds, dining tables and wall units come apart for the trip and go back together at the new home.
- A full house of packing. We pack everything, or only the kitchen and the fragile rooms. You choose.
Offices along Sylvan Avenue
Route 9W, called Sylvan Avenue here, runs through town past a string of office buildings. We also do office and commercial moves: desks, files, computers and meeting room furniture. We plan office moves around your working hours, and weekends and holidays cost nothing extra, which helps when the office must open on Monday as usual.
Office buildings usually want a COI, just like apartment towers. We issue it and send it with the contract.
Getting here, and why trucks stay off the parkway
Englewood Cliffs sits just north of Fort Lee, so the George Washington Bridge is the usual crossing from Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens. Moves from Brooklyn, where our trucks start, either cross Manhattan to the bridge or take a tunnel and drive north.
The Palisades Interstate Parkway runs along the east edge of town, but commercial vehicles are not allowed on it. Moving trucks use Route 9W and local roads instead. We plan the route with that in mind.
How pricing works: your hourly rate and terms are in writing before moving day, and the total follows the actual hours. If you add items or services, we confirm the change in writing first.
