Old Harrison and new Harrison
Harrison is a small town on the Passaic River, across the water from downtown Newark. For a long time it was a town of factories and rows of two-family houses. The area around the PATH station and along the river has changed: new mid-rise and high-rise rental buildings stand where industrial sites used to be, with a direct train to Newark and to lower Manhattan.
So Harrison has two kinds of move, and they need different plans.
Moving into a new building
New rental buildings run move-ins on a schedule, and they are strict about it. Here is the usual order of things:
- Ask the leasing office for the move-in rules: allowed days and hours, the elevator, the loading area.
- Ask what the COI must show. We issue the COI and send it with your contract. If you ask, we send it to the leasing office directly.
- Book the elevator and the loading area. If many people move in the same month, book early.
- Send us your booking so we can time the drive to arrive at the start of your slot.
- On the day, have your keys, fob and move-in approval with you.

Moving in or out of an older house
Harrison’s older blocks have two-family houses with steep inside stairs, narrow front walks and cars parked on both sides of the street. Here the plan is about the curb and the stairs: where the truck can stand, how many steps there are, and which pieces must come apart. A video estimate that shows the street, the front steps and the stairwell answers all three.
We take apart beds, tables and large wardrobes and put them back together at the new home. If you want help with packing, we pack the whole home or just the fragile things.
Game days and event traffic
Harrison is home to a professional soccer stadium near the river. On game and event days, the streets around it fill with cars and people, and parking gets much harder. Check the stadium schedule before you choose a date, and tell us if your date falls on an event day. We can plan an earlier start or a different route.
Getting here
Our trucks start in Brooklyn. From Brooklyn or lower Manhattan, the usual way is the Holland Tunnel and then the highways west. From Midtown, the Lincoln Tunnel, the Turnpike and Route 280 can be shorter. Route 280 runs right past Harrison, which also makes it easy to head west toward the rest of New Jersey.
How pricing works: your hourly rate and terms are in writing before moving day, and the total follows the actual hours. If you add items or services, we confirm the change in writing first.
Who moves to and from Harrison
- Manhattan workers who want a newer apartment on a direct PATH line.
- Neighbors from Kearny and Newark moving a mile or two.
- Renters who leave a new building for a house elsewhere in Hudson or Bergen County.
- Households heading further, to another state. We move to most of the continental US, with a written estimate first.

Can you move me from Harrison into Manhattan?
Yes. Moves across the Hudson in both directions are the core of our work. New York buildings usually want a COI and a booked elevator, and we handle the COI.
I only have a bed, a desk and some boxes. Is that too small?
No. Small moves get a free written price like any other move.
Do you work on weekends?
Yes. Weekends and holidays cost nothing extra. Check your building’s rules first; some allow move-ins only on certain days.
Can I call in Russian?
Yes. The phone is answered in English and Russian.
