What moving here looks like
Palisades Park is a small borough of tight residential blocks just west of Fort Lee, a short drive from the George Washington Bridge. Broad Avenue, the main street, is known for its Korean restaurants, bakeries and shops, and it stays busy most of the day. Many homes are two-family houses, a lot of them newer builds with one unit on each floor, plus small apartment buildings and some single-family homes.
That mix means a typical Palisades Park move is a house move with stairs, not a tower move with an elevator. Building paperwork is lighter. Stairs, parking and the size of your furniture matter more.
Upstairs, downstairs
A two-family house holds two very different moves under one roof.
- The ground-floor unit. Few or no steps and a short carry to the truck. Usually the quicker job.
- The upper unit. A straight inside staircase to the second floor, and sometimes a third level inside the unit. Big pieces come apart: we take apart beds, tables and wardrobes and rebuild them at the new place.
- Owners changing floors. Moving from the upper unit to the lower one, or the other way, is a real move too. Short distance, same stairs. It gets a written price like any other move.
Coming from Queens or Manhattan
A move from Queens to Palisades Park usually goes through the Bronx and over the George Washington Bridge. From Manhattan, the bridge is the usual choice too, unless you start far downtown, where a tunnel and a drive north can be quicker. Parking on a Palisades Park block
Blocks are narrow, both sides are parked, and driveways are short. The truck often has to use the street in front of the house. Ask the borough what applies on your date, tell your neighbors, and keep your own cars out of the space by your door that morning. If the other household in your house has a car, ask them to move it too.

- Book early if you want a weekend date. Weekends and holidays cost nothing extra.
- Keep passports, papers and medicine in a bag that rides with you.
