What moving here looks like
Palisades Park is a small borough west of Fort Lee, near the George Washington Bridge. Many homes are two-family houses, so a typical move here means stairs, not an elevator.

A two-family house holds two moves under one roof.
- Ground floor. Few or no steps, a short carry to the truck. Usually the quicker job.
- Upper unit. A straight inside staircase, sometimes a third level. Big pieces come apart: we take apart beds, tables and wardrobes and rebuild them at the new place.
- Owners changing floors. Moving from the upper unit to the lower one, or the other way, is a real move too. Short distance, same stairs. It gets a written estimate like any other move.
Coming from Queens or Manhattan
A move from Queens to Palisades Park usually goes through the Bronx and over the George Washington Bridge. From Manhattan, the bridge is the usual choice too, unless you start far downtown, where a tunnel and a drive north can be quicker. Parking on a Palisades Park block
Blocks are narrow, driveways are short, and both sides are parked. Trucks often use the street in front of your house. Ask the borough what applies on your date, tell your neighbors, and keep your cars out of the space by your door.

- Start on the kitchen early. It usually fills more boxes than any other room.
- Book early for a weekend date.
- Keep passports, papers and medicine in a bag that rides with you.
