One city, many kinds of move
Jersey City is many places at once. A move into a downtown tower and a move out of a two-family house in Greenville have little in common except the truck. Before we price a Jersey City job, we want to know which part of the city you are in, because the building type decides almost everything else.

Getting across the river
The Holland Tunnel comes up in Jersey City, so most trucks from lower Manhattan and Brooklyn use it. From Midtown, the Lincoln Tunnel and a drive south can be faster at some hours. The approaches to the Holland Tunnel back up at rush hour on both sides of the river, so we set start times with that in mind.

Tower moves downtown
Downtown towers are strict, which helps once you know the rules. Most want a COI before the date, a booked freight elevator, a loading dock slot and a move inside set hours, often on weekdays only. In a tower
- Book the elevator and the dock for the same slot.
- Get the exact COI wording from management and send it to us.
- Label boxes by room and by floor if the new place has more than one level.
In a brownstone or two-family house
- Measure the stairs, the landings and every door on the way out.
- Clear the stoop and the front hall the night before.
- Ask the city what you need to hold curb space for the truck, and tell your neighbors.
Common Jersey City moves
People come to Jersey City from Manhattan and Brooklyn for more space and a PATH or light rail commute. People leave for houses in Bergen County, for Manhattan jobs, or for other states.
