When you need storage

Most people need storage for a reason with a date on it:

• the old lease ends before the new one starts;
• the closing date on a house moves;
• a renovation needs empty rooms;
• you are moving into a smaller place and are not ready to let go of everything;
• a business needs somewhere for furniture and files between two spaces.

We offer short-term and long-term storage through affiliated self-storage facilities that are clean and secure. We say it plainly: the storage space belongs to the facility, not to us. What you get from us is one mover for the whole chain: packing, the move into storage, and the delivery out.

How storage works with us

1. Tell us what goes into storage and for how long, even if the end date is not fixed yet.
2. You get a written price before moving day. It shows the move into storage and how storage and the later delivery are handled.
3. The crew wraps furniture, packs what needs packing and loads everything into the unit.
4. When you are ready, call us and we schedule the delivery to your new home.

How to store well

• Use boxes of a few standard sizes. They stack better and use less space.
• Mark every box on two sides with its contents and room.
• Keep a list of what goes in, or ask us for an inventory.
• Tell us what you may need first, so it goes in near the door.
• Do not store food, plants, anything flammable, cash, documents or jewelry.
• Clean and dry furniture and appliances first. A damp fridge or washer can grow mold in a closed unit.
• Keep mattresses and upholstered furniture covered.

Getting your things back

When your new place is ready, call us with the date and the address. We load everything at the facility, deliver it, and put back together what we took apart. If the new home is in a building with move rules, the same COI and elevator planning applies on delivery day. Need only a few things first? We can bring part of your storage now and the rest later.

Storage between two moves

Storage often sits in the middle of a bigger move: from a Manhattan apartment to a house in Bergen County, or from a New Jersey home to another state. We can take your things from the old home into storage and later deliver them anywhere we serve, including long-distance moves to most of the continental US.
