Local moves
- Minimum flat rate: $385.
You get a free written estimate with the rate and terms before moving day. Your final cost depends on how much you move. If you add items or services, we confirm the change in writing first. This rate is for local moves; a long-distance move gets its own written estimate.
Estimates are free, in person or by video, seven days a week, day or evening.
Included at no extra cost
- 3 wardrobe boxes to use during the move.
- Moving blankets to protect your furniture.
- Dollies, tools and other moving equipment.
- Basic furniture disassembly and reassembly.
- A certificate of insurance (COI) for your building, on request. See high-rise moving.
Packing supplies on the truck (optional)
- Boxes: $4 to $29 each.
- Moving tape: $4 a roll.
- Plastic covers for mattresses, sofas and other furniture: $10 to $29.
- Custom crates for TVs, glass or marble tops, mirrors, picture frames and lamps: from $25. The price depends on the size and how fragile the item is.

Your move can cost more or less. A third-floor walk-up with a long carry takes more time than a tower with a loading dock. You get a free written estimate before moving day.
What goes into your written estimate
- Size. Rooms, furniture and boxes. An accurate list makes an accurate estimate.
- Distance and route. From your old home to your new one, including the bridge or tunnel when the move crosses the Hudson.
- Access. Stairs, elevators, the walk from door to truck, and the move windows of both buildings. Tell us early: more stairs or a longer carry adds time. See high-rise moving.
- Packing. Full, partial or none, plus materials and crating. See packing services.
- Special items. A piano, marble or glass tops, large art, and anything that needs a crate.
- Date. The date and start time you ask for. We move on weekends and holidays too.
Basic valuation coverage, and more protection
Every move includes basic valuation coverage at no charge. Know what it is: it is not full replacement value. On an interstate move, basic coverage is released value, 60 cents per pound per article. For light, valuable things like electronics or art, that is far less than the cost to replace them.
You can choose more protection at a higher price. On an interstate move, Full Value Protection means the mover repairs or replaces a lost or damaged item, or pays what it costs to replace it today. Your choice goes into the written contract. On a move inside one state, we tell you the coverage level in writing.
Payment
We take cash or Zelle. The written estimate shows your rate and terms.
Long-distance moves: your federal rights
A move from New Jersey to another state follows federal household goods rules, with one local exception: a short move between New York City and a nearby New Jersey town, such as Manhattan to Hoboken, stays inside the federal New York City commercial zone, and those rules do not apply to it. On a federally regulated move, you receive two federal publications with your written estimate: the brochure Ready to Move? and the booklet “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move.” Check any interstate mover, including us (U.S. DOT No. 967970), at fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move.

- What is your U.S. DOT number? For a move inside New Jersey, what is your New Jersey public mover license number?
- How is the time counted, and what exactly is included?
- How are travel and tolls charged?
- Are you the mover, or a broker who passes the job to another company?
