Seven ways to make a walk-up move faster
- Pack in closed, similar-sized boxes.
- Keep boxes light; books go in small boxes only.
- Take apart what you can, or leave beds, tables and wardrobes to us.
- Clear the stairs and hall of bikes, strollers and shoe racks.
- Stack boxes near your door, not in back rooms.
- Ask neighbors to keep the front space open that morning.
- Read your lease for move rules. Some landlords limit the hours.

Walk-up tips from the top floor
- Tell us the floor number at both ends, and whether the stairs turn.
- Measure your largest piece against the narrowest door on the way out.
- Book a morning start if your street gets busier later in the day.
- Photograph how your TV and computer cables connect before you unplug them.
- Keep a small bag with papers, medicine and chargers off the truck.
