Same-day moves depend on a free crew
We do last-minute and same-day moves when a crew is free. We check the schedule before promising a time. Call early for a better chance of a crew today or tomorrow.
What to Have Ready Before You Call
These details make the call short and help us send the right crew and truck.
- Both addresses: street address and unit number at each end.
- Floor and elevator: the floor at each end, plus freight elevator, passenger elevator, or stairs.
- The big pieces: sofas, beds, dressers, appliances and any piano. Say which pieces may need to come apart.
- Building hours: many high-rises allow moves only at set hours. Ask the office at both buildings.
- The COI: ask each building if it wants a Certificate of Insurance.
A Fast Video Estimate
You do not need to wait for an in-person visit. We give free written estimates by video, 7 days a week, day or evening. For a last-minute move, video means no wait for a visit. Walk through your home with your phone and show us every room, the closets and any storage space. You get the estimate in writing. Basic valuation coverage is included at no charge.
If You Have Not Packed Yet
On short notice, packing is often not done. We offer full or partial packing and unpacking. We can deliver materials so you start at once, or pack for you. For antiques, art or glass, ask for crating. Want a list of what goes on the truck? Ask for an inventory.
If the New Place Is Not Ready
Sometimes the old lease ends before the new keys arrive. We offer short- and long-term storage through affiliated, clean, secure self-storage facilities. Your things go from the old home to storage. When the new home is ready, we deliver them on a scheduled date.
Building Paperwork
Many high-rises ask for a COI before a move (see high-rise moving). We issue the COI building management asks for and send it with your contract. On request, we send it to the building directly. You do not have to chase the paperwork on a tight deadline.
