A short crossing with two sets of rules
On a map, Manhattan to Hoboken hardly looks like a trip. The river is narrow, and a tunnel carries the truck under it. The real work happens at the two doors. From downtown, the Village and Tribeca, the truck usually takes the Holland Tunnel. It comes up in Jersey City, just south of Hoboken. From Midtown, the Lincoln Tunnel usually makes more sense: it comes out in Weehawken, right on Hoboken’s northern edge. Both tunnels have height limits, and traffic on the approaches changes by the hour, so we pick the crossing for your date and start time. Leaving a doorman building? Ask about the move-out rules when you give notice: the days and hours moves are allowed, elevator access and its booking window, the exact names on your Certificate of Insurance (COI), and where the truck stops: side entrance, loading dock or street.
