Queens to the cliff, by way of the Bronx
From Queens, the usual way to Fort Lee does not touch Manhattan. The truck crosses into the Bronx, heads west on the Cross Bronx Expressway and goes over the George Washington Bridge, which lands in Fort Lee. From western Queens that usually means the RFK Bridge; from northeast Queens, the Whitestone or Throgs Neck Bridge. At some hours, crossing Manhattan to the Lincoln Tunnel is quicker instead. No parkways for a moving truck
Queens drivers use the Grand Central and the Cross Island Parkway every day. A moving truck cannot. Parkways in New York are closed to commercial vehicles, so the truck stays on expressways and truck routes. The drive can take longer than the one you make in your own car, and we plan the start time around that.
Selling one co-op, buying another
Forest Hills, Rego Park, Kew Gardens, Jackson Heights and Bayside have many co-op buildings, and so does the cliff in Fort Lee. If you sell in one and buy in the other, each side has its own paperwork:

Garden apartments and houses
Many Jackson Heights garden co-ops are walk-ups around a courtyard, with a long carry to the street. Houses in Flushing, Bayside or Fresh Meadows bring a basement, a garage and more to pack. On the Fort Lee side, the towers have elevators, and the two-family houses west of the cliff have inside stairs. Tell us both ends, and we plan the crew for the stairs and the carries. Queens to Fort Lee questions
Do you have to go through Manhattan?
Usually not. From most of Queens, the Bronx and the George Washington Bridge are the usual way. We use Manhattan and the Lincoln Tunnel only when the traffic for your date points that way.
The Fort Lee board approval is late. What happens to my date?
Tell us as soon as you know. We move the date to one both buildings allow. If you have to leave Queens first, we can hold your things in storage through affiliated, clean, secure self-storage facilities and deliver on a scheduled date.
Do weekend moves cost more?
No. Weekends and holidays cost nothing extra when your buildings allow moves on those days.
